Wild Expressive Painting for Teens Ages 11-16

Wednesday, March 28th 3:00pm-5:15pm  Granite & Quarry Rooms

In this fun and freeing creative arts program led by local artist Giulietta “Julie” Nardone, teens will reconnect with their inner wildness, the place where imagination lives. Instead of copying an existing painting, a photograph or a still life, teens will take a safari inside their own minds and memories to create artwork that is an expression of who they are. This “trust-in-self” methods shows teens that they already have everything they need inside their minds, hearts, and souls to create beautiful, unique artwork. Teens are invited to experiment, explore and express. Parents will be amazed and pleased when they see the artwork created by their kids in the short afternoon program. A variety of papers, painters, markers and decorative bling will be provided. Teen painters should were or wear appropriate painting attire.  Non-latex gloves will be offered. Pre-registration is required and seats are limited to 20, so sign up quickly with the YA Librarians. Name & email necessary. Photos will be taken of artists and their work for grant and future marketing requirements. **This program is supported in part by a grant from the Milford Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
