Milford
Town Library Web Site Policy
The Milford Town
Library web site is provided as an electronic service to
people who are unable use our facility at the present time,
or who prefer to receive some of our services via the Internet.
While our web site cannot provide the full range of services
that we give in our library building, we consider it a valuable
tool for communication. We also hope that many people who
use our web site will also visit us in person in our library
building. We
welcome your suggestions and comments. The
Milford Town Library is dedicated to providing
free, easy, equal and confidential access
to all forms of human expression.

The Internet offers
access to a wealth of information that can be personally, professionally
and culturally enriching. Library staff have attempted to identify
on the Milford Town Library's web site specific starting points
for searches and links to sources on the Internet which are consistent
with the Library's Collection Development Policy. But, because
the Internet is a vast and unregulated information network, sites
on the Internet change often, rapidly and unpredictably. The
Library assumes no responsibility for any damages, direct or
indirect, arising from use of its electronic services or its
connections to the Internet.
The
Library cannot protect users from information and
images that they might find offensive or disturbing.
It is each user's responsibility to exercise critical
judgement in evaluating the validity of information
accessed via the Internet through this web site.
We advise parents to monitor and supervise their
children's Internet use and to talk with their own
children about Internet safety issues in relation
to family values and boundaries.
